Christopher Lewis will become the FIRST EVER Closed Loop (Artificial Pancreas) Race Car Driver to race during a 3 hour Porsche Endurance Race! The Race is called the Tribute to the LeMANS and will take place at Willow Springs International Raceway!
He has been thriving with Type 1 Diabetes for eight years and racing cars since 2007. Chris explaining Loop the Artificial Pancreas in the video below during his first race with Loop in May 2017.
We are looking to raise funds to cover the race weekend expenses, including entry fees, race car rental, insurance, fuel, food and hotel.
A closed-loop artificial pancreas system is a device, or series of devices, that can work in concert with one another to automatically give the correct amount of insulin in response to food intake and rising blood glucose.
